Head Softball Coach

Summary Meridian High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our softball program as the Head Softball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the game, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. This seasonal position requires a leader who can inspire and motivate players while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that enhances players' skills and team performance. Conduct daily practices, focusing on individual and team skill development, strategy, and game preparation. Organize and manage all aspects of the softball program, including scheduling games, practices, and transportation. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship among players. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and player progress. Monitor the academic performance of student-athletes to ensure compliance with school and athletic eligibility requirements. Recruit and evaluate potential players, providing guidance and support throughout the recruitment process. Collaborate with assistant coaches and support staff to create a cohesive coaching team. Attend and contribute to coaching clinics, workshops, and professional development opportunities. Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices and competitions, adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols. Requirements Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher, preferably in softball. Strong knowledge of softball techniques, strategies, and rules. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Must pass a background check and adhere to all school and district policies.
