We are seeking an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist / HR Coordinator to support daily business operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This contract role combines office coordination, payroll administration, and human resources support, making it ideal for someone who can effectively manage administrative processes while also handling employee-facing responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in keeping the office running smoothly, supporting payroll functions, and helping maintain a well-organized and compliant workplace. Strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and advanced Excel expertise are essential for success in this role. Based on general knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all required documentation and setup steps are completed accurately and on time. Based on general knowledge.
• Process employee requisitions for temporary agencies, including entering and loading data into multiple systems and ensuring security badges are created and distributed. Based on general knowledge.
• Maintain OSHA logs and complete all required reporting for the North Carolina Department of Labor (NCDOL). Based on general knowledge.
• Report and track workers’ compensation claims, including associated documentation, communication, and follow-up tasks. Based on general knowledge.
• Assist with benefits administration, including rolling over and setting up new benefit plans and managing the open enrollment process. Based on general knowledge.
• Post job openings on Indeed and other job boards as needed to support hiring efforts. Based on general knowledge.
• Support payroll-related activities and ensure accurate processing and recordkeeping. Based on general knowledge.
• Help maintain employee records, HR documentation, and administrative files in an organized and confidential manner. Based on general knowledge.
• Provide general office and HR coordination support to help ensure efficient day-to-day operations. Based on general knowledge.

• At least 3 years of experience in office management, administrative support, or a closely related role.

• Background handling office administration within a business setting, preferably in manufacturing or a similar environment.

• Experience managing office supply ordering and maintaining inventory for daily operational needs.

• Familiarity with accounts payable processes and general administrative recordkeeping.

• Ability to perform receptionist and front-office responsibilities in an effective and detail-oriented manner.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy.

• Experience supporting payroll or HR generalist functions is preferred.

• Exposure to Paycom is a plus.
