HVAC Service Manager Metuchen, NJ | Full-Time | $95,000–$115,000 Base + Performance Bonus

We're recruiting for a growing, family-owned HVAC company in the Edison, NJ area seeking a hands-on HVAC Service Manager who knows what it takes to build a strong team, deliver exceptional service, and drive department performance.

This isn't a position for someone who wants to manage strictly from behind a desk. We're looking for a respected HVAC leader who can roll up their sleeves, support technicians with challenging diagnostics, and help take an established service team to the next level.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of residential HVAC Service Technicians.

• Provide hands-on technical support for complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs.

• Oversee daily service operations and coordinate with dispatch to maximize efficiency.

• Conduct field visits, ride-alongs, and technician training to improve performance.

• Monitor productivity, callbacks, workmanship quality, and customer satisfaction.

• Establish accountability while building a positive, team-oriented work environment.

• Resolve escalated service issues and maintain strong customer relationships.

• Partner with leadership to improve department processes, efficiency, and profitability.

• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and developing new technicians.

• Ensure compliance with HVAC codes, safety standards, and company procedures.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience preferred.
  
  
• Previous HVAC leadership, supervisory, or management experience required.
  
  
• Strong residential HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic expertise.

• Extensive knowledge of furnaces, central A/C systems, heat pumps, boilers, and mini-splits.

• Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop service technicians.

• Experience overseeing daily service operations and technician performance.

• Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to lead by example while holding team members accountable.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• EPA 608 Certification preferred.

• Experience with ServiceTitan or similar service management software is a plus.
