Our client is equipment maintenance within our organization. This individual will oversee the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of our facilities and systems-including building infrastructure, HVAC, electrical systems, production equipment, and grounds ensuring compliance with safety regulations. As the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, you will be ensuring that our facilities operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently to support our core business objectives. As a group manager, you will be establishing high standards while expected to develop and implement a PMCS (Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services) program. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with other departments, particularly production, to optimize facility efficiency and support business goals. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, flexibility in adapting to production schedules, strategic thinking & problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on teamwork.

Responsibilities :

A Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the physical infrastructure of facilities and all production-related equipment operates efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively. This includes the regular maintenance schedule and repair of all equipment within the facility, ensuring a safe working environment while overseeing the general supervision of the facilities and maintenance team. Additionally, this job requires strong technical skills, excellent organizational and leadership skills, knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.

• Facilities Oversight : Manage all aspects of building maintenance, groundskeeping, and utilities to ensure optimal functioning and safety. This includes supervising the upkeep of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as handling necessary repairs or upgrades.
• Production Equipment Maintenance & Repairs : Develop & implement a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) program to ensure maximum uptime and functionality of all food production equipment, prioritizing food safety and operational efficiency.
• Safety & Compliance : Ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards. Conduct regular safety inspections, emergency response protocols and swiftly address any safety concerns.
• Team Leadership & Development : Manage, train and develop a team of facilities and maintenance professionals, setting high standards and expectations. Provide mentorship, training, and performance evaluations to foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
• Strategic Planning & Coordination : Collaborate with other departments, especially production and operations, to ensure facility maintenance aligns with business goals and production schedules. Develop and execute maintenance plans that minimize disruptions and support long-term operational efficiency.
• Vendor & Supply Management : Manage vendor relationships and procure supplies and services for maintenance and facility needs.
• Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records for maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance.
• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory of tools, parts & supplies to support efficient operations.
• Planning & Budgeting: Prepare and manage the facilities and maintenance budget, identifying cost-effective solutions and optimizing resources.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in facilities management
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience as facilities mechanic in food production environment
• In-depth knowledge of designing and implementing a robust Preventive Maintenance Program
• Skilled in mechanical, electrical, and control systems, with demonstrated expertise in the repair and maintenance of food processing machinery
• Proven leadership ability with a strong work ethic, capable of mentoring, guiding, and managing cross-functional teams in food safety and quality practices
• Strong problem-solving capabilities + analytical thinking to analyze situations & find solutions
• Trade school / high school diploma is preferred
• Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus
