Intertek’s Building Science Solutions (BSS) group is primarily focused on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.What are we looking for?The Building Enclosure Consultant, Senior Project Manager has full responsibilities of the project including management of project teams, mentoring of staff, building client relationships and pursuing project work, and review of client deliverables, including technical content. This position will travel as business needs indicate, usually up to 25% of the time. Shift/Schedule: Monday – Friday 8AM-5PMWhat you’ll do:Manage consulting/commissioning projectsAssist in national/international business development, marketing, and sales efforts regarding consulting and testingPrepare proposals and develop new business promptly to support the businessCollaborate with Building Science Solutions Group and testing managers to source and share client contacts and leadsPerform project management activities including planning, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, execution, and reportingMonitor contract requirements, invoicing, receivables, and maintain acceptable profit marginsParticipate in training and management of building science staff to assist on consulting projectsWrite and execute testing protocols and prepare construction document deliverables for new and renovation projectsPerform reviews of drawings, specifications, shop drawings and submittals; develop remedial work recommendations for existing buildingsPerform construction administration site visits and prepare reports/punch lists; coordinate with project teams and stakeholdersThis position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Architectural Engineering5+ years of building enclosure consulting experienceTechnical understanding of building enclosure systems and construction processAbility to read and understand architectural drawings and specificationsAbility to manage projects and internal project team on all sizes of projectsAbility to perform work from ladders, boom-lifts, scaffolds, swing stages, roofs, etc.Extensive technical competence and ability to effectively communicate with clients, designers, contractors, and coworkers, both in writing and orallyStrong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to meet changing and strict deadlinesConsistent and professional interaction and communication with clients and project teamAbility to travel as neededValid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle ReportIntertek: Total Quality.
