Afternoon Program Teacher

About This Role We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing individual to lead our toddler late afternoon program. This is a 11:30-5:30pm daily position with the option to add hours as a substitute teacher. The afternoon toddler lead is instrumental in creating a suitable environment and providing quality care for children who stay for an extended day. An ideal candidate would have experience in a classroom or afterschool program setting and be willing to learn and adopt Montessori practices under the guidance of the morning toddler lead teacher. What You’ll Do Key responsibilities include: Fostering children's social-emotional growth in alignment with Montessori principles Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the classroom and outdoor spaces Developing engaging activities and supporting established routines for the children in the afternoon program Ensuring compliance with all relevant licensing standards Arriving on time and being mindful of absences to minimize their impact on the children Requirements A high school diploma and experience working with young children in a leadership capacity are essential. A love and understanding of children, reliability, consistency, and flexibility are also required. Early childhood certification or equivalent is preferred, as is the ability to spend time on the floor/get down to children's level. Nice To Haves Previous experience in Montessori settings is a significant asset.
