This is a position with The UPS Store, a privately owned franchise and a retail shipping and printing environment. The Center Associate delivers world-class customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages for courier shipment and operating copiers, printers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices. The Associate expertly advises our valued customers by supplying accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry. The ideal candidate has previous retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a high school diploma or GED (some college course work preferred), a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. He or she must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time. RESPONSIBILITIES Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries Communicates effectively and continuously practices good listening with customers, co-workers, vendors, and leadership Frequently multi-tasks while maintaining extreme attention to detail and high quality control Performs other duties as required May open and/or close the store and perform end-of-day accounting, etc. Helps customers with expert boxing and packaging, selling the appropriate products to ship materials safely and efficiently Must enjoy working with all people Must be able to arrive to work by 8:15am Monday Through Friday and 9:15am on Saturday Must be able to work as late as 7:15pm Monday Through Friday and 4:15pm on Saturday QUALIFICATIONS Retail/customer service experience Some college course work preferred High school diploma or GED required Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites Prompt, reliable, and responsible Neat, clean, and professional appearance Non-smoking environment Able to work collaboratively Must be able to type fast and accurately.
