Summary:

The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for the overall sales, marketing, and public relations strategies designed to meet and exceed community census goals. General responsibilities include developing marketing plans, coordinating advertising strategies, completing direct sales calls, completing tours with prospective residents, planning in-house marketing events, and maintaining marketing collateral and brochures. The Director of Sales and Marketing ensures that policies and procedures related to customer service and marketing are implemented and maintained consistently. All department directors report directly to the Executive Director/Independent Living Director.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assists the Independent Living Director in the development of marketing plans, including a quarterly competitive analysis.
• Successfully organizes and implements the marketing plan on a daily basis; know budgeted census, admission goals, and actual census at all times.
• Plans in-house events designed to educate the community on the services and strengths of the community.
• Practices excellent time management skills and completes tasks within company time frames.
• Completes sales calls according to the annual marketing plan. Maintains an average of 12 hot leads per month.
• Utilizes the CRM software program daily in order to document inquiries, deposits. admissions, discharges, census, schedule, advertising, and sales calls.
• Ensures occupancy/census goals are achieved through qualified admissions.
• Models professionalism, compassion, and courtesy at all times.
• Coordinates events with the Director of Activities.
• Provides thorough and accurate information to the Wellness department in order to complete pre-admission assessments for prospective residents.
• Coordinates admissions and discharges with the Director of Maintenance to ensure a minimum turnaround time for vacated apartments and verifies the apartment's readiness prior to a resident's admission.
• Ensures RSL's policies and procedures are followed as they relate to marketing and advertising.

Job Qualifications:

• Must be able to relate to the elderly in a positive manner.
• Must possess good marketing and public relations skills.
• A minimum of two (2) years prior experience in a sales position operating retirement, assisted living, skilled nursing, or related business is preferred, but not required.
• High school diploma, higher education, and accompanied by specific training and/or certification in management activities.
• Must possess a current state specific driver's license and appropriate driving record.
• Must be fidelity bondable.
• Must have good communication skills, verbal and written; English language skills adequate to allow communication with residents and staff, and to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Must have good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
