Electrical Engineer – Switchgear Controls & Power Distribution EquipmentLocation: Tempe, Arizona – Fully OnsiteSalary: $90,000–$130,000Schedule: 50–55 hours per weekPosition: Full-time, PermanentTo be considered for an interview, please make sure your application is full in line with the job specs as found below.Are you an Electrical Engineer with hands-on experience designing power-distribution equipment?We are supporting a rapidly growing electrical-equipment manufacturer in Tempe that is looking for a design-focused engineer to take customer requirements and turn them into production-ready products. This is not a field-service or testing position, you will have direct involvement in the design of PDUs, panelboards and related low-voltage equipment.You will work alongside engineering, production and supply-chain teams, supporting projects from the initial client specification through design and manufacture. It is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to see their designs built, tested and delivered within the same facility.This is an exciting time to join a hugely growing organization that can offer long-term stability, career progression and the opportunity to develop alongside the business.What You'll DoDesign switchgear controls, PDUs, panelboards and related low-voltage power-distribution equipmentReview client specifications and translate them into accurate product designsProduce detailed technical drawings and models using SolidWorks and AutoCADDevelop designs that are practical, efficient and ready for manufactureSupport projects throughout the full design-to-production lifecycleWork directly with production teams to answer technical questions and resolve design issuesCollaborate with supply chain regarding components, materials and product requirementsEnsure designs meet applicable UL standards and customer specificationsAssist with design changes and product improvementsMaintain accurate engineering documentation throughout each projectHelp ensure finished products are delivered to the required technical and quality standardsWhat we're looking forProduct-design experience within PDU, switchgear, low-voltage or electrical-equipment manufacturingStrong working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCADAn understanding of UL standards and compliance requirementsExperience taking electrical products from initial specification through to manufactureThe ability to work collaboratively with engineering, production and supply-chain teamsStrong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detailA degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, although equivalent industry experience will be consideredWhat's on offerCompetitive salary of $90,000–$130,000, depending on experienceCompany benefits packageA key position within a rapidly growing organizationLong-term stability and genuine scope for career progressionThe opportunity to take ownership of projects from specification through manufactureDirect involvement in the design of specialist power-distribution equipmentThe chance to work closely with experienced engineering, production and supply-chain teamsA hands-on environment where you can see your designs move through production and become finished productsDirect product-design experience is the priority.
