Essential Functions Design bridges, culverts and retaining walls Plan production including 3D Modeling and CADD Load rating analysis of bridges Utilize structural design software Prepare structural evaluation studies, structure‑type studies, and similar reports Computation of estimated quantities, plan notes, and development of cost estimates Site visits to support the design process Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering (structural focus is a plus) Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification with the intent to obtain Professional Engineer Certification, preferred 0-2 years of experience Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D is favorable Proficient with Microsoft software, to include Word and Excel This position could require periodic travel, approximately 15% or more Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer while performing engineering design, analysis, and documentation tasks. Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and by telephone. Occasional walking, standing, climbing stairs, bending, reaching, and carrying materials or equipment up to 25 pounds. Ability to visit project sites, treatment facilities, and construction locations, which may require traversing uneven terrain, navigating active work zones, and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Work Environment / Environmental Factors Work is primarily performed in a professional office setting with a hybrid work environment available based on business needs. Periodic travel to client sites, treatment plants, pump stations, and active construction sites may be required. Fieldwork may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, odors, vibrations, moving mechanical equipment, and other environmental conditions commonly associated with water, wastewater, industrial, and construction environments.
