School Technology Specialist (STS) Supervisor Northshore School District 417 CENTRAL ADMINISTRATION CENTER - BOTHELL, Washington Starting Date: Immediately Job Summary This position provides leadership and supervision of school-based School Technology Specialist (STS) staff, including their daily support work and annual projects. In collaboration with Technology Services leadership and building principals, the STS Supervisor establishes STS work performance standards and expectations, conducts annual evaluations consistent with the ESP Collective Bargaining Agreement, and ensures aligned and effective technology service and support across all district schools. The position provides technical guidance on complex matters, leads staff training and development, supervises STS work in hardware and software support, and drives the implementation of technology projects and standards in support of district goals. Responsibilities Supervises school‑based STS staff, establishing performance expectations and conducting annual evaluations. Participates in hiring, onboarding, and orientation of new STS staff in coordination with Technology Services leadership and Human Resources. Models professional behavior and customer service standards for STS staff; provides coaching, mentoring, and professional development. Organizes and leads STS staff as an effective technical team, enhancing capabilities and fostering a positive, collaborative environment. Develops and maintains strong customer focus and effective working relationships with Technology Services leadership, building principals, and school staff. Works with principals to ensure school technology service needs are met and addresses performance plans or expectations as needed. Collaborates with district technology support team on standards and protocols for aligned and effective service. Assists in creating, implementing, and maintaining technical standards and procedures for acquisition, maintenance, and support of technology in schools. Supervises STS involvement in installation, service, and maintenance of operating systems, computer platforms, hardware peripherals, and software applications. Assists with analysing and reporting support metrics and service data; shares information on team performance, service trends, and identified gaps with technology leadership. Assists in maintaining applicable documentation, technical standards, and helpdesk knowledge‑base resources. Attends district meetings, leadership team meetings, and training as required. Performs other duties as assigned consistent with the scope and intent of the position. Reporting Relationships Reports to the Assistant Director of Technology Support; supervises Student Technology Specialists. Working Conditions Requires meeting inflexible deadlines; concentration mentally and visually for extended periods; occasional dealings with distraught or frustrated individuals; occasional flexible and irregular hours; lifting and carrying equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds; operating a motor vehicle and driving between sites; manual dexterity and precision required for network connections and computer operation. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience Completion of a two‑year post‑secondary degree program in information technology, computer science, or a related field and three (3) years of experience providing technical support in a multi‑platform environment, including one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience. Experience supporting technology in a K‑12 educational environment. Alternate combinations of education and experience will be evaluated for comparability. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of day‑to‑day support work performed by school‑based technology staff; knowledge of operating systems, computer platforms, hardware peripherals, and software applications common to K‑12 environments; ability to lead, supervise, and evaluate a distributed team; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; ability to read, write, and communicate technical information; ability to work independently and cooperatively; ability to work irregular and flexible hours; ability to set priorities and plan work; demonstrated initiative, project management and problem‑solving skills. Licenses/Special Requirements Valid Washington State driver’s license. Salary 2025‑26 Non‑Represented (NNRAP) Administrator Salary Schedule (salary will be updated according to the 2026‑27 school year salary schedule once approved); LevelF; placement on the salary schedule will be determined by Human Resources DOE. FLSA Exempt. Work Year 12‑month position, 260 days per year, 8.0 hours per day.
