Deputy Director, Operations & Maintenance (Domestic, Electrical and Electronics)

Deputy Director of Operations & Maintenance (Domestic, Electrical & Electronics) Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) is seeking an accomplished leader to oversee key operational divisions that ensure reliable delivery of high‑quality water and efficient operation of essential infrastructure. The Deputy Director reports to the Assistant General Manager and leads, plans, organizes, and directs activities of domestic maintenance and construction, domestic water production and metering systems, electrical, electronics and instrumentation, pump maintenance, and asset management. Provide strategic direction and management oversight to align all functions with CVWD’s mission, values, and Strategic Plan. Set short‑ and long‑term goals, manage large‑scale projects and budgets, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards. Develop and mentor a high‑performing team of senior managers, technical professionals, and support staff dedicated to operational excellence and superior customer service. Serve as a trusted advisor to the Assistant General Manager, collaborate with other departments, and represent CVWD in meetings with the Board of Directors, partner agencies, and industry organizations. Shape operational policies, assess community and system needs, implement innovative solutions, and advance CVWD’s commitment to reliability, sustainability, and public service.
