Clinical Therapist

Currently seeking a Clinical Therapist to join our team of dedicated professionals. Hermitage Hall (a UHS company) is one of Middle Tennessee's largest stand‑alone psychiatric residential treatment hospitals. Certified by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, the facility has served families for over 30 years and employs over 130 professionals in a family‑oriented, therapeutic environment. Position Summary The Clinical Therapist oversees therapeutic services for a caseload of residents. Responsibilities include coordinating treatment plans, conducting individual, group, and family therapy, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, agencies, and families to ensure safe, effective care and timely discharges. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Demonstrates skill in counseling, interviewing, and assisting residents during individual sessions. Conducts group therapy and supports treatment groups. Engages families, establishing mutual goals and maintaining open communication. Works toward successful discharge of residents by projected dates. Schedules and conducts individual therapy sessions with each resident. Plans and leads therapy groups as scheduled by the program. Provides family therapy as required by treatment planning and contract obligations. Demonstrates understanding of human sexuality and sex offender dynamics and discusses these topics skillfully. Develops a therapeutic relationship—empathic, caring, supportive—while maintaining appropriate authority. This Opportunity Provides The Following Challenging and rewarding work environment. Qualifications Education and Experience Master’s degree in social work or related field required. Minimum two years of experience with emotionally disturbed individuals in a residential juvenile sex offender setting preferred. Experience leading process groups, individual and family therapy preferred. Knowledge of risk assessment, community reintegration, family education, and family needs assessment preferred. Experience in treatment planning preferred. Familiarity with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care preferred. Strong communication skills with residents, families, staff, and outside agencies. Ability to work independently or as part of a team, managing time and documentation effectively. Licenses, Certificates & Registrations Licensed or license‑eligible in the mental health field in Tennessee (e.g., LPC, LPE, LCSW, LMFT) with supervision provided and actively seeking licensure track. This role requires a full background check, including fingerprint, drug screen, and employment verification.
