About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MICU Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU/Tele experience with medical/surgical trauma/critical patients. License: KY or Compact License required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Level One trauma experience is required. Teaching hospital experience is preferred. First-time travelers will be accepted only if they have Level 1 trauma experience. Description: LEVEL ONE TRAUMA EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Must have two years of ICU/Tele experience with medical/surgical trauma/critical patients. Must have teaching hospital experience. First-time travelers will be accepted only if they have Level 1 trauma experience. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required. KY or Compact license is necessary. All licenses and certifications must be in hand before starting. Travelers will be required to work a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per schedule period. Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted. RTO requests: For the first two weeks on assignment, only single days off can be requested. After the first two weeks, longer time off can be requested. RTO must be requested during the submission process; it will not be approved if requested after the assignment has started. Travelers must be able to work their full schedule without conflicts. No holiday RTO accepted. Workers will be expected to work three out of five winter holidays. Patient ratios are 2:1 for days and nights, and 2:1 for weekends. Float is required within the ICU and stepdown departments. Compliance requirements include BLS, ACLS, EKG onboarding exam, NIHSS, advanced math, med/pharmacology exam, general ICU competency exam, trauma ICU competency exam, general ICU skills, trauma ICU skills, and CORE exams. Candidates must float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty. Candidates will not be accepted if there are any licensure hits. It is essential to know if candidates have previously worked in this facility at the time of submission to check their eligibility for rehire.
