Security Architect - Consultant (Cloud Engineer)

The Department of Technology Operations needs assistance with supporting deployment and management of the State-Wide Information Technology Shared Services Cloud initiatives and projects.

Work Location: First week on site to get acclimated to team. After that, consultant should plan 3 days per month onsite. Remainer of time is remote. Onsite cadence will be scheduled with the manager after start. The candidate needs to be aware they will be an onsite element and plan accordingly.

Open to nationwide candidates; must be able to work eastern time zone hours. All travel-related costs for onsite work will be the responsibility of the resource, regardless of the frequency of onsite work.”

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems and 8+ years of technical architecture experience and relevant hands-on engineering.

10 years infrastructure, systems engineering, DevOps, or architecture

8+ years technical architecture

5-7 years AWS (IAM, Organizations, Networking Architectures, Cost Mgmt controls, etc.)

3-5 years Azure (RBAC, Azure AD, Networking Architectures, Cost Mgmt controls, etc.)

3-7 years enterprise cloud architecture or governance

3-5 years Terraform and infrastructure as a code

3-5 years cloud migrations and platform operations

3+ years technical leadership and knowledge transfer

Public Cloud infrastructure expertise

Preferred Skills

AWS and\or Azure certifications

Expertise in Terraform infrastructure as code, understanding of scaling technologies and solutions, experience with AWS or other clouds, familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container platforms, security, penetration testing and threat detection tools, and experience wServiceNow, Datadog, Dome9, and/or Aviatrix.

Background in DevOps, Software Development, Site Reliability, or Systems Engineering.

Experience with configuration management and continuous deployment.
