Lead Accountant

Lead AccountantWe are seeking an experienced Lead Accountant to play a key role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of financial operations. This position is ideal for a highly analytical, self-directed accounting professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, takes ownership of complex accounting areas, and drives continuous process improvement. The Accounting Lead will be responsible for core general ledger functions, technical accounting areas, audit support, and cross-functional collaboration across finance and operations teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead core general ledger activities, including month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliationsPerform detailed variance analysis and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reportingMaintain balance sheet accounts including accruals, prepaids, payroll-related accounts, fixed assets, and goodwillOwn technical accounting areas such as lease accounting and depreciation schedulesDrive improvements and automation in accounting workflows to increase efficiency and scalabilityPrepare and maintain audit-ready schedules and provide support for annual audits and quarterly reviewsDevelop and maintain standardized reconciliation and reporting templatesSupport compliance activities including sales tax filings and documentationPartner cross-functionally with Accounts Payable, Payroll, and FP&A to improve data flow and month-end processesMonitor internal controls and support financial policies and proceduresQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field6+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong general ledger and month-end close experienceAdvanced Excel skillsExperience working in ERP systems (NetSuite or similar preferred)Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and solve complex accounting issuesPreferred QualificationsCPA or progress toward certificationMaster's degree in Accounting or FinanceExperience with reporting tools, data environments, or accounting process automationBackground supporting audits and regulated reporting environmentsKey Skills & AttributesHighly analytical with strong attention to detailProcess-oriented with a mindset for continuous improvementProactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working with limited directionStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionallyOrganized, adaptable, and results-driven
