About the Role:
Meridian Global Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Warehouse Receiving Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity with a well-established food distribution and warehousing company in the Bronx.
This role is responsible for overseeing all inbound freight operations, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency within a fast-paced warehouse and refrigerated storage environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing receiving operations, inventory control, and warehouse staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all inbound deliveries and receiving operations
- Manage truck flow in the yard to ensure efficient use of receiving bays
- Verify inbound shipments against Bills of Lading (BOL) and Purchase Orders (POs)
- Inspect trailers for cleanliness, proper condition, and food safety compliance
- Record product temperatures and ensure product integrity upon arrival
- Utilize RF scanners and warehouse systems for accurate data entry
- Load/unload and palletize inventory using material handling equipment
- Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
- Maintain accurate receiving records and support inventory control processes
- Assist with scheduling inbound deliveries and coordinating with logistics
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies
- Lead and support warehouse staff, including delegation and training
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in warehouse receiving, logistics, or a supervisory role minimum 3-5 years
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory and data entry
- Experience with RF scanning systems and warehouse technology
- Forklift and pallet jack experience (certification required or ability to obtain)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to lift up to 95 lbs and work in refrigerated environments
- Flexible schedule with ability to work extended hours as needed
Work Environment:
- Warehouse setting with refrigerated and temperature-controlled areas
- Physically active role requiring standing, lifting, bending, and equipment operation
- Moderate to loud noise levels
