Ultrasound Technician - Touchette Location

$15,000 Sign-on Bonus!!!

Monday - Friday 8 hr shifts with minimal call

Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologists utilizes ultrasound imaging equipment to visualize internal organs and structures for the purpose of diagnosing abnormalities.

Functions and Duties:

• Performs a wide variety of complex ultrasound examinations such as; pelvic sono, biophysical profile, ob sono, abdomen, kidney, breast, testicular, thyroid and color-flow Doppler studies of veins and carotid arteries.

• Reviews request from physicians and determine the appropriate procedure and equipment necessary to obtain the desired images. Records patient history.

• Assists in performance of invasive procedures such as needle guided biopsies and aspirations.

• Able to visualize the function and position of three dimensional forms within the body from a two dimensional presentation.

• Monitors patient condition during examination and provides excellent customer service.

• Coordinates with vendors for service and notifies manager with any equipment issues.

• Coordinates patient information with PACS and EMR to save data.

• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

• Graduate of an American Medical Association approved program preferred.

Experience

• One year preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

• Basic life support required.

• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers required.

Skills and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of anatomy to visualize and document medically significant findings.
