Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a contract-to-hire placement based in Westerville, OH. This role focuses on supporting patients with complex medication regimens, requiring strong communication skills and in-depth knowledge of retail pharmacy medications.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and dispense prescriptions for patients managing multiple chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.
• Engage compassionately with a primarily Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patient population, many with low literacy levels.
• Utilize pharmacy software (Pioneer Rx preferred, training available) to maintain patient records and process prescriptions.
• Collaborate closely with pharmacists and healthcare providers to optimize medication management and patient care.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality in all pharmacy operations.
• Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with no weekend shifts.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in retail and/or specialty pharmacy settings, specifically working with patients suffering from chronic illnesses.
• Strong patient communication skills, demonstrating patience and understanding when interacting with vulnerable populations.
• Familiarity with the top 200-400 medications commonly prescribed in retail pharmacies.
• Prior experience with Pioneer Rx software is highly desirable.
• Valid pharmacy technician license in Ohio; PTCB certification is highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities while delivering compassionate care.
