Role Description

Horton, Oberrecht & Kirkpatrick, a civil litigation defense law firm, is seeking a highly skilled and self-directed Legal Secretary with a minimum of five years of civil litigation legal secretarial experience for its Downtown San Diego office. The successful candidate will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the civil litigation process, advanced calendaring capabilities, strong organizational aptitude, and exceptional time-management skills. This position is hybrid, with regular on-site work required each week.

Skills/Qualifications required:

* 5+ years of civil litigation legal secretarial experience preferred

* Strong secretarial and computer skills - typing 60+ wpm

* Knowledge of State and Federal Civil Procedure and Court Rules

* Experience with State and Federal filings (including e-filing)

* Calendaring

* Strong skills editing and finalizing litigation documents

* Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high quality work product

* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to keep up in a fast-paced work environment

* Organized and open to developing and implementing efficient processes.
