School Psychologist – High School Caseload | Full-Time | 2026–2027 School Year

Location: Portland, Oregon

A full-time School Psychologist opportunity is available in the Portland, Oregon area for the 2026–2027 school year . This position is dedicated to supporting a high school student population , providing comprehensive psychological services that promote academic achievement, emotional well-being, and college and career readiness. The selected candidate will collaborate with administrators, teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to help students succeed in a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for high school students referred for academic, behavioral, emotional, or social concerns.
• Interpret assessment results and present findings during eligibility, evaluation, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
• Develop and contribute to IEPs, behavior intervention plans, and recommendations that address the unique needs of secondary students.
• Provide consultation to teachers, administrators, and support staff regarding effective interventions, accommodations, and behavioral strategies.
• Deliver short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional support for students as needed.
• Participate in the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) processes to improve student outcomes.
• Collaborate with school teams to support students transitioning to post-secondary education, employment, or independent living when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's, Educational Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Oregon School Psychologist license or certification, or eligibility to obtain state credentials.
• Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and providing psychological services within a school setting.
• Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, special education procedures, and best practices for secondary education.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with high school students in grades 9–12.
• Familiarity with transition planning, graduation requirements, and post-secondary readiness initiatives.
• Experience using electronic special education documentation systems and student data platforms.
