Make a positive impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a welcoming educational environment close to Lawrence, MA. This contract opportunity is set to run from September 1, 2026, through June 14, 2027, and offers both full-time and part-time onsite options. Required Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Education (DOE) Teacher License for Visually Impaired
- Successful completion of MTELs (Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure)
- Prior experience working with visually impaired students in school settings strongly preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Ability to develop and adapt individualized educational plans for students with visual impairments
- Committed to inclusive practices and fostering student independence
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction and support services to students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to modify curriculum and classroom materials
- Conduct assessments and participate in IEP development and meetings
- Advise and coach faculty on strategies and modifications for visually impaired students
- Engage families as partners in the student’s educational journey
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and services rendered
