4-Day Work Week | 12-Bed Hospice Unit | Up to $315K + Loan Repayment \n

\n A respected integrated healthcare system in Augusta, Maine is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Hospice & Palliative Care Physician to join a compassionate, interdisciplinary team providing comprehensive care for patients with serious and life-limiting illnesses.\n

Position Highlights \n

• Monday–Friday schedule with four 10-hour shifts

• Weekend home call only every 6–8 weeks

• Inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, home hospice, and telehealth responsibilities

• $260,000 – $315,000 salary

Responsibilities \n

\n
• Manage complex symptom control including pain and non-pain symptom management
\n
• Conduct inpatient and outpatient palliative care consultations
\n
• Coordinate end-of-life care planning with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
\n
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and community partners
\n
• Mentor and educate fellows, residents, medical students, and staff
\n
• Participate in quality improvement and program development initiatives
\n

Qualifications \n

\n
• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
\n
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine
\n
• Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
\n
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
\n
• Experience supporting or participating in medical education and mentorship
\n

\n
Preferred Experience \n

\n
• Hospice, palliative care, geriatrics, or end-of-life care experience
\n
• Academic or integrated healthcare system experience
\n
• Leadership experience in quality improvement or clinical program development
\n
• Experience with inpatient and outpatient palliative consultations
\n
• Interest in evidence-based practice improvement and clinical education
\n
