Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon

The Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation is seeking an engaged, energetic Orthopedic Surgeon to join the faculty within the Orthopedic Trauma Section.

This faculty position will provide clinical care at UW Health University Hospital (Level 1 Trauma Center) and Unity Point Health – Meriter Hospital (dedicated Geriatric Hip Fracture Program), with additional opportunity to participate in the care of pediatric trauma patients at UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital. Clinical care will include call coverage, dedicated OR time to facilitate timely, daytime care of urgent/emergent injuries, as well as outpatient clinic in partnership with Orthopedic Trauma Advanced Practice Providers.

Medical education is a core component of this position, including teaching and mentorship of residents within our robust Orthopedic Surgery Residency, as well as medical students and other learners.

Further academic opportunity is available through participation in the section’s established clinical research portfolio, as well as the opportunity to develop an individual research program, if desired.

• WI Medical license by the start date of the position.
• Board-certified or board eligible through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery by the start date of the position.
• Completion of a US Orthopedic Surgery residency and Orthopedic Trauma Association-Accented Fellowship by the start date of the position
• Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges, by the start date of the position.
• Experience in caring for pediatric trauma patients
• Experience providing clinical care in an academic medical center environment, and experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center within the last three years
• Academic interest demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications and scholarly research activity highly desired.
