About the role The Law Offices of David C.Hardaway San Marcos, TX Full-time Pay: $48000-$60000/year health insurance, 401k w/employer match, PTO The job You're the first person someone talks to after they -- or their kid, spouse, or parent -- get arrested.They found us on Google, they're probably calling two or three other firms, and they'll hire whoever makes them feel like they've landed in good hands. Your job is to be that voice:pick up fast, settle them down, find out what happened, tell them what happens next, and get the right ones booked for a consultation they actually show up to.You don't give legal advice and you don't run the consultation -- the attorneys do that.You own everything up to the moment the prospect is sitting across from a lawyer, and that includes keeping the wrong cases off the attorneys' calendars.Every consult that was never going to be our case costs an attorney time a real one needed.The job is judgment as much as phone manner. What you'll do Answer inbound calls, texts, web chats, and Google messages from prospective clients -- fast, every time, including the ones that come in while you're on another line Run a consistent intake conversation:what happened, where, when, who's involved, and whether we're the right firm for it Book the consultation and make it stick -- confirmations, reminders, and follow-up on the ones that go quiet Keep the intake log clean so we can see what's coming in and what's converting Recognize the callers that aren't a good fit and point them somewhere useful Who this is for Inbound sales, treatment coordination, insurance, or another law firm's intake is helpful background -- anything where you've taken a hesitant caller and turned them into someone who showed up.It's not required. You can be warm and in control at the same time.Callers are scared, embarrassed, sometimes not at their best.You don't get rattled and you don't go cold. You have judgment about people.You'd rather book three good consultations than eight bad ones, and you can tell the difference. You're organized enough to run a follow-up sequence without being chased about it. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Legal experience is not required but is very helpful, especially criminal law experience.We'll teach you the criminal process.We can't teach you to be good on the phone.
