Russell County Schools Russell County High School - Russell Springs, Kentucky Open in Google Maps Event Manager Russell County Schools Russell County High School - Russell Springs, Kentucky Open in Google Maps This job is also posted in Russell County Schools Job Details Job ID: 5860421 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Jul 29, 2026 5:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: To Be Determined Job Description REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED Three years of athletic experience as a coach, coordinator, athletic director or other relevant role involving student supervision Strong communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, coaches, staff, and the public Commitment to student-centered participation and safety DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Working knowledge of District policies, KHSAA regulation, safety procedures, and emergency plans Command of fundamental rules for athletic supervision and facility management Ability to interpret, apply, and enforce policies, procedures, and regulations Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor and proactively solve problems in complex or stressful situations and remain highly visible SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES The Event Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing athletic events at assigned middle or high school sites, ensuring after-hours are conducted in a safe, organized, and professional manner in alignment with district policies and KHSAA regulations. The Event Manager acts as the on‑site lead for pre-event setup, event supervision, and post‑event operations, serving as a liaison between coaches, officials, staff and the general public. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES & EVALUATION CRITERIA Pre-Event: Confirms event schedule details, including date, time, teams, officials, locations, and other requirements related to the event Prepares facilities, ensuring completion of appropriate field/court set up and facility access (such as restrooms, gates, locker rooms, etc.) Conducts routine safety checks for hazards and functionality (such as lighting equipment) and maintains ongoing observance of safety throughout events Assigns, briefs, and supports event staff, including but not limited to ticketing, supervision, concessions, etc. Greets and assists visiting teams and officials Remains current regarding emergency protocols (AED, weather delays, evacuation routes and procedures, for example) and implements successfully as needed During Events: Circulates throughout the event venue to maintain visibility with proper identification (staff shirt or identification) Monitors crowd behavior and promotes good sportsmanship, including among spectators Ensures safety and support of game officials Supervises athlete conduct, monitors team areas, and promotes in‑game decorum Maintains meaningful communication with school administrators and security staff Post Event: Ensures orderly and safe dismissal of spectators and teams Escorts and supports officials as needed Confirms facilities are cleaned, secured, and lights and equipment are turned off Reports any incidents, injuries, misconduct or other relevant information to the Director of Athletics and Student Activities, Assistant Athletic Director, and/or school administrators Before, during, and after events, performs other duties commensurate with the position as assigned by the supervisor/designee. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is performed by sitting, standing or walking.. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. The work at times may require bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights.
