Workforce Development Coordinator

Position Overview The Workforce Development Coordinator coordinates and implements programs that connect participants with education, training, employment, and career advancement opportunities. The role provides comprehensive case management, develops Individual Employment Plans (IEPs), builds relationships with employers and training providers, and ensures compliance with grant requirements and Workforce One reporting. The Coordinator works closely with participants, employers, educational institutions, community partners, and ACER staff to help individuals overcome barriers to employment and achieve successful workforce outcomes. Key Responsibilities Participant Recruitment & Intake (20%) Conduct outreach and recruit eligible participants. Facilitate workforce program orientations and open houses. Complete participant eligibility verification and enrollment. Conduct assessments to identify career goals, employment barriers, and support-service needs. Develop Individual Employment Plans (IEPs). Maintain complete participant files in accordance with grant requirements. Case Management & Participant Success (30%) Provide ongoing one-on-one career coaching and case management. Monitor participant progress throughout training and employment. Conduct regular follow-up meetings and monthly check-ins. Connect participants with supportive services, including transportation, childcare, work clothing, and other resources. Assist participants with resume development, interviewing skills, and job-search strategies. Maintain communication through graduation, employment placement, and follow-up periods. Employer & Training Partner Engagement (15%) Develop relationships with employers to identify employment opportunities. Coordinate participant referrals to employers and training providers. Organize hiring events, employer panels, career fairs, and networking opportunities. Collaborate with educational institutions to monitor participant attendance and academic progress. Program Administration & Compliance (20%) Maintain accurate participant records in Workforce One and internal databases. Ensure all required documentation is complete and audit-ready. Prepare reports for funders and internal leadership. Track outcomes including enrollments, completions, certifications, employment placements, wage increases, and retention. Ensure compliance with DEED, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), and other funding requirements. Community Engagement & Special Projects (10%) Represent ACER at community meetings, outreach events, and workforce initiatives. Build partnerships with employers, educational institutions, and community organizations. Assist with workshops focused on career readiness, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and professional development. Other Duties (5%) Support cross-department initiatives that advance ACER's mission. Participate in staff meetings, strategic planning, and organizational events. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, Business, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least three years of experience in workforce development, employment services, case management, education, career counseling, or a related field. Experience managing participant caseloads and confidential records. Experience with databases and case-management systems; Workforce One experience is preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse and immigrant communities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications Experience with DEED-funded workforce programs. Knowledge of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Experience working with immigrant, refugee, and underserved populations. Familiarity with workforce grant reporting and compliance. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable.
