Our client is a high growth food manufacturer hiring for a Director of Purchasing - Food and Packaging that is based in Victorville, CA.

Job Description

• Develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies for food and packaging materials to meet business objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing and cost efficiency.
• Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues to ensure consistent quality and delivery.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with business goals.
• Manage and optimize inventory levels to meet operational demands while minimizing costs.
• Manage, train and mentor a purchasing and procurement team.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all procurement activities.
• This role is onsite based in Victorville, CA.

The Successful Applicant

• Experience with procurement and supply chain management in the food manufacturing sector.
• A Bachelors degree in a related field.
• Experience sourcing protein, food ingredients, and packaging materials.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Ability to analyze market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Proficiency in supplier relationship management.
• Knowledge of compliance standards and industry regulations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience developing, hiring, and training a procurement and sourcing team.
• Problem-solving skills with a focus on driving operational efficiency.
• This role is onsite based in Victorville, CA.
