Program Monitor

Residential Program Care AssistantJob Objective: Assist with the provision of basic care, health and safety of clients in a residential program.Essential Functions:Monitor client vital signs and overall medical condition, including mental and physical stability as evidenced by client behaviorMonitor client's appropriate use of medication, following program guidelines for sameResponsible for intake/admission screening, placement, and discharge of clientsFollow program discharge guidelines. Monitor client activities and document same according to program guidelinesAssist with the coordination of interoffice communications as requested by answering incoming telephone calls, inquiries and client referrals, directing the caller to the appropriate person for resolution, assuring client confidentiality is appropriately maintainedEnsure that there are a sufficient number of blank forms/materials on hand for the on-going maintenance of client files and related administrative responsibilitiesAssist with urine analysis and breathalyzer tests of clients as requestedAssist with providing for client's basic needs according to program guidelines (e.g. issuing linens, towels, personal hygiene products, etc.)Assist with the serving of food, setting up for and clearing up after mealtimes as assignedAssist with the implementation of counselor directors for clientsMonitor the security system and conduct security rounds according to program guidelinesRespond to and/or communicate inappropriate activity in accordance with program proceduresAssist in maintaining a clean and safe environmentBe consistently at work on time as scheduled – program location may be reassigned according to needsPerform related duties as requested or required.Minimum Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or equivalent; some college credits, particularly in addiction courses, preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education.Experience: Minimum one year of previous continuous work experience preferredCertifications/Licenses: Must obtain certification in FPR and First Aid within the first 90 days of employment and maintain certification as required; must obtain TB test before the first day of working in the programSkills/Abilities:Support of Salvation Army Mission Statement, policies and proceduresAbility to multitask and work effectively under pressure in crisis situationsAbility to have positive affect through communications with a diverse populationAbility to perform job duties effectivelyCompetent in use of computer and possess the ability to learn related software as requiredAudio and visual acuity needed for the supervision of clients and security systemAbility to maintain confidentiality of client information, including HIPPA requirementsExemplify professional attitude and conductFamiliarity with the Twelve Step Programs helpfulSome knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment is a plusAssist with client transportation as neededSupervisory Responsibility: NonePhysical Requirements: Includes speaking, hearing and vision ability; walking, sitting and standing for extended periods of time; manual dexterity; lifting, pulling and pushing of materials up to 50 pounds.
