Title
Med-Surg RN - Neuro/Neurosurgery

Schedule
- Shift: Days
- Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week (OT billed after 48)

Assignment Details
- Contract Length: 13-26 weeks accepted
- Ratios: 1:5-6

Requirements
- Minimum experience: 2 years
- Preferred: Neuro experience and previous charge experience
- Required: BCLS (BLS)
- Preferred: NIH/NIHSS
- License: NC or Compact pending acceptable for submittal
- Charting/med systems: EPIC, Pyxis, SBAR
- Clinical skills: Neuro-focused care, telemetry experience, IV start/maintenance, peripheral line care, non-invasive airway support, isolation precautions/PPE

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult patients undergoing neurosurgical procedures and those with neuro diagnoses.
- Monitor, assess, and document patients' conditions and responses to treatment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for effective patient care.
- Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and best practices for neuro care.

Compliance / Notes
- Weekend requirement: 12-16 weekend shifts per contract
- RTO rules: Up to 7 days RTO auto-approved (no holidays), must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Orientation: Hospital-based orientation plus 2 unit orientation shifts
- Scrub color: Navy
- EKG: Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty
- Employment restrictions: Former employees must wait 12 months before applying
