Help Us Expand Our Security Camera & Infrastructure Business Across the DMV

Advantage Technology is seeking an experienced Physical Security & Low-Voltage Sales Executive to grow our commercial video surveillance, security camera, and structured cabling business throughout the DMV region.

We have successfully delivered millions of dollars in security camera and infrastructure projects in West Virginia. Now, we're looking for a dedicated sales professional to help bring that same success to Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia.

Our primary focus is commercial security camera systems, including Verkada solutions, with significant opportunities in access control, structured cabling, fiber optics, and related low-voltage infrastructure.

This is not a traditional managed IT services or cybersecurity sales position.

We want someone who understands the physical security and low-voltage industry, knows where projects originate, can build relationships with decision-makers and contractors, and is comfortable identifying, pursuing, and winning competitive bid opportunities.

You will have the support of an established technology company with experienced engineering, estimating, project management, and installation teams.

What You'll Do

Develop New Business

• Identify, prospect, and close new commercial security camera and low-voltage infrastructure projects throughout the DMV.
• Lead sales opportunities involving Verkada and other commercial video surveillance platforms.
• Target commercial facilities, schools, government agencies, healthcare organizations, property managers, developers, and other organizations investing in physical security.
• Build relationships with facilities directors, security directors, IT leaders, purchasing departments, and business owners.
• Identify opportunities to expand camera projects into access control, cabling, fiber, and related infrastructure.

Find Projects & Pursue Bids

• Actively monitor government procurement portals, construction bid boards, RFPs, RFQs, and commercial project opportunities.
• Develop relationships with general contractors, electrical contractors, construction managers, architects, and engineering firms.
• Identify upcoming construction, renovation, facility expansion, and security modernization projects before they reach the bidding stage.
• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to identify qualified opportunities.
• Coordinate with our technical, estimating, and operations teams to develop accurate, competitive proposals.
• Manage bid deadlines, follow-up, negotiations, and contract awards.

Own the Sales Process

• Build and manage a qualified pipeline of opportunities, from initial prospecting through contract award.
• Conduct discovery meetings, site visits, customer presentations, and product demonstrations in coordination with our technical specialists.
• Understand customer needs, project budgets, competitive alternatives, and purchasing processes.
• Develop account relationships that produce repeat projects and referrals.
• Meet established sales and gross profit objectives while maintaining accurate CRM and pipeline reporting.

Solutions You'll Represent

• Commercial Video Surveillance: Verkada, IP security cameras, CCTV, cloud-managed surveillance, and video management systems
• Physical Security: Electronic access control, intercoms, and integrated security systems
• Structured Cabling: Cat6/Cat6A, copper cabling, data drops, and network infrastructure
• Fiber Optics: Fiber backbone installations, expansions, and connectivity projects
• Supporting Infrastructure: Network closets, racks, cabinets, pathways, and low-voltage installations
• Construction & Modernization: New facilities, renovations, retrofits, and technology upgrades

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of successful B2B outside sales experience involving commercial physical security, video surveillance, structured cabling, low-voltage systems, or closely related installation projects.
• Demonstrated success generating new business and closing project-based sales opportunities.
• Working knowledge of commercial security camera systems, physical security infrastructure, or low-voltage installations.
• Experience building relationships with end customers, contractors, integrators, or construction-related organizations.
• Ability to develop a territory independently rather than relying solely on company-provided leads.
• Strong prospecting, communication, negotiation, and pipeline management skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly throughout Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia.

Highly Preferred Experience

• Direct sales experience with Verkada, Axis, Avigilon, Genetec, Hanwha, or similar commercial video surveillance solutions.
• Existing relationships with security directors, facilities managers, general contractors, electrical contractors, or commercial property owners in the DMV.
• Experience pursuing public-sector procurement opportunities and commercial construction bids.
• Familiarity with construction drawings, Division 27/28 specifications, plan rooms, and low-voltage project estimating.
• A demonstrated track record of winning camera, access control, fiber, or structured cabling projects.

Experience selling commercial electronic security systems or low-voltage installation projects will receive particular consideration.
