Make a difference in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school setting for the 2026–2027 academic year. With multiple openings available at both elementary schools and the high school, you’ll work onsite in Resource Room settings, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Caseloads will be assigned based on school placement, providing opportunities to engage with learners at various stages and support their academic and developmental growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and indirect instructional support to students with disabilities, fostering an inclusive and encouraging classroom atmosphere.
• Utilize a range of instructional strategies—such as phonics, multisensory techniques, and repetition—to enhance student engagement and meet diverse learning needs.
• Support the development of sensory, motor, language, cognitive, and memory skills in your students.
• Implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and utilize positive behavior support strategies to teach socially appropriate behaviors.
• Modify and adapt general education curricula through evidence-based methods and assistive technologies to address individual student goals.
• Develop and conduct engaging lessons that blend direct instruction, guided practice, and independent activities.
• Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to promote student success and ensure compliance with all special education regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, with a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate as required by the Michigan Department of Education (or current enrollment in a recognized teacher certification program).
• Preferred: Previous experience teaching in a comparable school setting.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.

This is a contract opportunity, offering a meaningful chance to work closely with students and a supportive school community from October 26, 2026, through June 10, 2027, for up to 37.5 hours each week.
