Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your daily tasks will include but are not limited to the following responsibilities:

• Deliver direct physical therapy services following the directives of a licensed physical therapist, ensuring adherence to individualized patient care plans.
• Administer treatments aimed at alleviating pain, enhancing mobility, and restoring function, while maintaining patients' optimal performance levels through active engagement in therapeutic exercises.
• Guide and support patients in both active and passive therapeutic exercises, facilitate muscle reeducation, and assist with gait training and mobility transfers.
• Utilize a range of physical modalities such as heat, cold, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and massage therapy to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
• Monitor patients' progress and reactions to treatments, maintaining detailed communication with the supervising physical therapist and appropriate organizational personnel via established protocols.
• Provide education to patients regarding the proper use and maintenance of assistive devices, including wheelchairs, braces, and prosthetics.
• Ensure accurate documentation of clinical notes and treatment sessions, with an emphasis on timely updates to the patient's clinical record.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and ongoing in-service educational programs to stay current with best practices in physical rehabilitation.
• Engage in quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives designed to elevate patient care standards.
• Complete additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals and enhance the patient experience.
