Seeking a Tax Manager to lead tax compliance, planning, consulting, and advisory engagements for closely held businesses and their owners while managing client relationships, mentoring staff, and driving practice growth.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage tax compliance, planning, consulting, and advisory engagements for closely held businesses and their owners.

• Review tax returns, workpapers, and related deliverables for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

• Handle corporate, partnership, S corporation, trust, and individual tax matters.

• Lead multiple client engagements while managing deadlines, budgets, and client expectations.

• Serve as the primary advisor and relationship manager for clients.

• Identify tax planning opportunities and provide strategic recommendations.

• Research complex tax issues and develop well supported conclusions.

• Stay current on tax law changes and communicate impacts to clients and internal teams.

• Collaborate with cross functional professionals to provide integrated client solutions.

• Mentor, coach, and develop tax professionals through training and performance feedback.

• Review staff work and support technical and career development.

• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention initiatives.

• Support business development, client expansion, and networking efforts.

• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Active CPA license required.

• 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, consulting, professional services, or private industry accounting.

• Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing team members.

• Strong knowledge of business entity taxation, individual taxation, tax compliance, research, and planning.

• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proven ability to manage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience serving closely held businesses and business owners.

• Experience managing client relationships and providing tax planning and consulting services.

• Experience with tax research databases, tax compliance software, AI tools, and document management systems.

• Familiarity with UltraTax, GoRS, CoCounsel, and Thomson Reuters products.
