About the job Estimator - Civil / Highways / Bridges / Marine The Civi Group has partnered with one of the leading family-owned bridge, highway, transit, railroad, and marine contractors in Northern Boston in their search for an Estimator with a specialized background in heavy civil estimating. As the Estimator, you will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with estimating construction projects, including quantity take-offs, cost management, communication, and budgeting. The role will involve performing field take-offs, communicating with construction teams and subcontractors, preparing RFPs, and analyzing bids. Compensation: Salary: Up to approximately $140K based on experience Benefits: Includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, and the opportunity for performance-based bonuses. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate effectively with project team members. Interpret plans and identify construction materials for bidding purposes, with a focus on heavy civil projects. Manage project scoping, clarification, and pricing efforts. Maintain project lists and vendor database. Generate estimates through quantity take-offs and subcontractor/vendor quotes. Assist with schedules and estimates as required. Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings. Skills & Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Engineering, or Construction Management preferred. Minimum of 8 years of heavy civil estimating experience, with a track record in highway, bridge, marine, rail, and trackwork projects. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints. Strong mathematical and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
