Please note that this role is intended to primarily support treatment planning operations at Massachusetts General Hospital.Professional Growth & Development OpportunitiesUnique experiences in education, research, and leadership customized to your aspirationsOpportunity to participate in and provide continuing education, including national conferencesWork in partnership with Radiation Oncology leaders in pursuit of clinical innovationHybrid work approach balancing work and life environmentsCompetitive Compensation and Benefits Packages including:Starting pay of $62.50/hrComprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision insuranceTuition ReimbursementPaid Parental LeaveResources for childcare and emergency backup careHospital-paid retirement plan and tax-sheltered annuity planSubsidized Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) passesEmployee perks - enjoy discounts on tickets and passes for everything from ski resorts to museums to sporting events.Job ResponsibilitiesDesign 3D/IMRT/VMAT/SBRT and/or IMPT treatment plans using computerized 3D planning system with optimal beam geometry, directions, and weights to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and spare critical structures in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription for patients receiving photon and/or proton therapy.Communicate technical information and provide support to radiation oncologists, medical physicists, radiation therapists, and other staff to advise in the implementation of designed treatment plans.Identify and contour normal and dose-limiting structures by utilizing images from one or more data sets.Perform image registrations with various data sets including but not limited to CT, MRI and PET.Participate in continuing education and quality improvement processes.Educates students and visiting professionals in the technical aspects of treatment plan development in radiation therapy.Participates in and supports clinical research projects.QualificationsBachelor's degree in physics (or a related Life, Physical, or Applied Science) is required.JRCERT-accredited Formal Education in Medical Dosimetry (BS/MS/Certificate) is preferred.Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) eligibility is required, while MDCB certification is preferred.Clinical medical dosimetry experience, including 3D conformal and IMRT/VMAT/SBRT treatment planning, is preferred.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesWorking knowledge of radiation safety and correct use of immobilization devices, compensators, wedges, field arrangement, and other treatment variables.Expertise in the technical aspects of radiation oncology and medical physics to develop optimal treatment plans.Knowledgeable in health care informatics, including the resources, devices, and methods to acquire, store, and retrieve data.Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate the exchange of information with patients, family members, the radiation oncology treatment team, as well as outside entities.Has high-level critical thinking and problem-solving skills.ExperienceClinical medical dosimetry experience, including 3D conformal and IMRT/VMAT/SBRT treatment planning:Dosimetrist I: 0-1 year preferredDosimetrist II: 2-3 years requiredCertified Medical Dosimetrist [CMD] - Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board requiredSr Dosimetrist: 3-5 years requiredCertified Medical Dosimetrist [CMD] - Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board requiredAdditional Job Details (if applicable)Remote Type: HybridWork Location: 45 Fruit StreetScheduled Weekly Hours: 40Employee Type: RegularWork Shift: Day (United States of America)Pay Range: $96,886.40 - $140,899.20/AnnualAt Mass General Brigham, we believe in recognizing and rewarding the unique value each team member brings to our organization.
