Make a direct impact in an elementary K-2 instructional setting as a paraprofessional, supporting young learners in a classroom environment that offers both rewards and challenges. This contract opportunity is based near Loves Park, IL, and is ideal for someone experienced with behavioral intervention or related backgrounds.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 2:45pm, following the school schedule, providing a consistent routine and the chance to build meaningful relationships with students.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Prior experience working as a paraprofessional or teaching assistant in a school setting
• Strong foundation in managing classroom behavior and supporting students with unique social, emotional, or behavioral needs
• Patience, adaptability, and positivity, especially in more challenging classrooms
• Familiarity with K-2 instructional practices and the ability to work closely with teachers and support staff
• Effective communication skills with students, team members, and school staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and support a safe, respectful learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the classroom teacher with implementing daily lesson plans and instructional activities
• Provide individualized or small-group support to students, helping them stay engaged and on-task
• Use positive behavior intervention techniques to encourage student participation and address challenging behaviors constructively
• Help set up classroom materials and learning stations
• Support students' needs, including academic, behavioral, and emotional support, as directed by teachers or specialists
• Foster an inclusive and nurturing environment to promote each child's success
