This full-time role involves working directly with patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries and surgeries, under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Work Environment

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work onsite in our orthopedic unit within the hospital. This dynamic setting allows for direct interaction with a multidisciplinary team and a diverse patient population. Your typical work schedule will be Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, offering stability while enabling you to develop strong therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the supervising Physical Therapist with the development and implementation of tailored treatment plans aimed at optimizing patient recovery.
• Providing hands-on therapy, including therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual techniques, to address individual patient needs effectively.
• Monitoring and documenting patient progress and response to treatment, ensuring accurate records are maintained for ongoing evaluations.
• Educating patients and their families on proper exercise techniques, safety measures, and the importance of adherence to prescribed treatments.
• Collaborating with the healthcare team to discuss patient progress, adjustments to treatment plans, and overall patient management strategies.
• Engaging in continuous professional development, including the attainment of continuing education credits to further enhance your clinical skills.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, with a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• A current and valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
• At least 2 years of experience specifically in an orthopedic setting, showcasing your ability to work with a similar patient population.
• Strong knowledge of rehabilitation practices, therapeutic modalities, and effective patient interaction techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for collaborating with team members and providing empathetic patient care.

Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirement is 2 years of experience, candidates with additional experience or specialized training in orthopedic rehabilitation, sports medicine, or manual therapy techniques will be given preference. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is also an advantage, streamlining patient documentation and progress tracking.

Compensation and Benefits
