Accounting ManagerOur client is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee a team of accounting professionals while ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of accounting services. This role combines team leadership with hands-on accounting oversight and is responsible for maintaining high-quality financial reporting, supporting audits, improving processes, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong technical accounting expertise and a passion for developing people.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionalsConduct team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing coachingMonitor workloads, deadlines, and project progress to ensure timely completion of deliverablesAllocate resources and delegate work to maximize team efficiencyAssist with onboarding and training of new employeesProvide guidance and support to team members while removing roadblocks and resolving issuesCoordinate team coverage during planned and unplanned absencesCollaborate with leadership to improve workflows, strengthen internal controls, and enhance operational efficiencySupport quality assurance initiatives to ensure accuracy and compliancePromote continuous learning and professional development within the teamClient ResponsibilitiesReview monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules for accuracy and GAAP complianceEnsure financial records are audit-ready and coordinate with external auditors throughout the audit processReview client deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely deliveryMonitor grant and restricted fund activity, ensuring compliance with applicable requirementsSupport annual compliance activities, including 1099 reportingParticipate in client onboarding to understand accounting processes and establish best practicesEvaluate accounting processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracyResearch and resolve accounting discrepancies and complex accounting issuesAssist with special projects, including chart of accounts maintenance, financial clean-up projects, and cash-to-accrual conversionsPartner with leadership to ensure exceptional client service and continuous process improvementRequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field3–5 years of progressive accounting experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or outsourced accounting servicesPrevious supervisory or management experience preferredNonprofit accounting experience preferredCPA preferredStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingProficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP softwareExcellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities while leading a collaborative, high-performing team
