Customs Entry Writer

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and hardworking Customs Entry Writer to join a fast-paced brokerage operations team. This role is ideal for someone with prior customs or freight forwarding experience who is looking to further develop their career in trade compliance. Key Responsibilities Prepare and process customs entries for import shipments Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Review import documentation for accuracy prior to entry filing Ensure compliance with CBP regulations and other government agency requirements (PGAs) Verify entries against invoices, packing lists, and other supporting documents Calculate duties, taxes, and fees as required Coordinate with brokers, clients, and carriers to resolve documentation discrepancies Maintain accurate records and ensure timely filing of entries Support the brokerage team with general compliance and documentation tasks Key Skills & Qualifications Minimum 2+ years' experience in customs entry writing, brokerage, or freight forwarding College degree preferred but not essential Working knowledge of HTS classification and CBP regulations Experience with customs entry software (e.g., CargoWise, Descartes, or similar) Ability to manage multiple entries and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills (phone, email, and interpersonal) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Basic computer literacy and familiarity with standard office applications What's on Offer Competitive salary with bonus potential Employer-paid medical benefits Paid time off (holidays and vacation) Supportive, team-oriented working environment with opportunities for growth If you are an experienced Customs Entry Writer looking for your next opportunity in New York, we encourage you to apply. #J-18808-Ljbffr
