Structural Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team supporting the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) at their Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL)! This position is full-time and will be based out of Niskayuna, NY with 20% hybrid flexibility. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION! Responsibilities Work within a project team environment to support construction projects at the Knolls Site. Develop and define project scope with sponsors. Work with a project team to develop specifications, cost estimates, drawing reviews, and provide engineering support during construction phase for buildings and utility projects. Oversee architectural engineering firms in developing concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates. Coordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors. Requirements Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering and 5 to 10+ years of relevant experience. 5 years experience for level II and 10+ for level III. Citizenship – To be considered, you MUST be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work. Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed. Experience performing structural engineering tasks including the development of contract documents, calculations, and cost estimates. Working knowledge of building codes and standards. Experience in construction administration (submittal review, RFI's, construction inspections, etc.). Desired Skills EIT certificate and or P.E. License. Engineering consulting experience.
