Contract Negotiator

Intuitive Surgical seeks a Contract Negotiator to manage commercial contracting across sales agreements, data privacy arrangements, and customer contracts. The role involves drafting, negotiating, and lifecycle management of complex contracts while collaborating with cross-functional teams and mitigating legal risks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and negotiate complex customer contracts including sales agreements and data privacy arrangements
• Monitor medical device industry changes and provide guidance on contractual best practices
• Collaborate with internal departments to align business goals with legal requirements and favorable terms
• Identify legal risks in contracts and work with Legal to develop mitigation strategies
• Manage full contract lifecycle from drafting through execution, renewal, amendments, and termination

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from accredited law school or equivalent legal experience
• 3+ years commercial contract experience in-house or law firm setting
• Working knowledge of HIPAA, data security, and data privacy regulations
• Exceptional contract drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication with cross-functional and external stakeholders
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and ability to manage complex contract issues autonomously
