General Production WorkerThe General Production Worker supports a variety of production activities on the manufacturing floor and receives cross-training to perform multiple tasks. This role follows written work instructions and standard operating procedures, uses basic math and computer systems to log jobs and create labels, and may work in both standard production areas and cleanroom environments. You will contribute to the creation of life-saving medical device components while developing a broad skill set across different machines and processes.ResponsibilitiesFollow written work instructions and standard operating procedures to complete production tasks accurately and safely.Use basic math skills to perform measurements, counts, and calculations required for production and quality checks.Log in and out of jobs using computer systems by scanning barcodes or QR codes, and accurately record production activity in the ERP system.Create and print labels through the computer system to ensure proper identification and traceability of parts and materials.Perform a variety of hands-on production tasks, including tumbling, CNC feeding, grinding, loading, and running automatic press machines or laser tubing equipment.Rotate through different workstations on the production floor and participate in cross-training to learn multiple tasks and processes.Potentially work in a cleanroom environment, following all cleanroom protocols and PPE requirements to maintain product quality and safety.Maintain a high level of reliability and consistency, especially during the initial training period, to support production flow and team performance.Communicate proactively if you are unable to attend work, following established procedures to inform the appropriate contacts.Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of required personal protective equipment, and contribute to a clean, organized, and well-maintained work area.Participate in ongoing training programs, classroom sessions, and on-the-job learning to develop skills across different roles and departments.Follow the facility's dress code and, when applicable, cleanroom attire requirements to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance.Respect performance metrics and feedback, using clear guidance from supervisors and trainers to improve work quality and efficiency in real time.Essential SkillsAt least 1 year of industrial experience in environments such as warehouse, manufacturing, landscaping, trade school, automotive, or other hands-on industrial roles.Comfort working in a production or general labor setting with machine operation and assembly tasks.Basic computer skills, including scanning barcodes or QR codes, navigating computer systems, and using ERP software to log jobs and create labels.Ability to read and follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures.Reliable attendance and strong work ethic, with a focus on consistency and dependability.Ability to work collaboratively on the production floor and adapt to cross-training across multiple tasks.Willingness to follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment.Capability to work in a structured environment with clear performance metrics and feedback.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with CNC operations is a plus.Experience with electric polishing is a plus.Previous exposure to cleanroom environments or medical device manufacturing is beneficial.Comfort working with automated machinery such as auto press machines and laser tubing equipment.Ability to learn new tasks quickly through classroom and on-the-job training.Openness to rotating shifts after initial orientation on first shift.Why Work Here?You will work in a clean, climate-controlled facility with a healthy, supportive culture that prioritizes mental health and wellness. Safety glasses and hearing protection are required in certain areas as needed, but steel-toe footwear and additional medical certifications are not required. A cleanroom area is part of the facility, where standard cleanroom PPE such as smocks, hair nets, beard nets, and non-fuzzy clothing are required; all cleanroom PPE is provided by the company, and no water is allowed in the cleanroom. In the cleanroom, employees must avoid perfume, jewelry, cosmetics, acrylic nails, fake eyelashes, and similar items to maintain strict cleanliness standards. The general dress code requires closed-toe shoes, no shorts or tank tops, and jeans worn at the waist with no rips. The schedule follows a Monday–Friday structure, with all positions completing first-shift orientation for the first two days. Regular shifts include first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and second shift from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., with a preference to train on first shift when possible. Employees receive two 10-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch, with access to a cafeteria on-site. Designated smoking areas must be used, and parking is available in an open lot behind the building, with visitor and reserved spots off-limits for general parking.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Britain, CT.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.80/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
