Responsibilities Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit. Ordering and inventory control, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team. Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork. Lead a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience for customers. Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Deli team. Unload and sort store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment. Ensure execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Deli team members are aware of and following these procedures. Thrives in a fast paced environment. Qualifications At least 18 years of age with preferred 2 years supervisory experience and strong knowledge of deli or related food service. Dependable, reliable, able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to give and receive direction in a team environment. Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers, handle special orders, and answer phones. Proven leadership ability to build, motivate, and maintain staff, with knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals. Strong focus on detail, analytical, and problem solving skills. Food Safety certification, and ensure all federal, state, and company regulations for product freshness, food safety, weights and measures, store safety, employee safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met. Strong organization and planning skills; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Physically able to lift/carry product horizontally/vertically up to 70 lbs., from 4” to 60”, for a distance up to 20 ft. without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours; stand for up to 4 hours continuously, total of 8 hours per shift. Operate a slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment, and maintain all equipment in safe working condition. Perform other related duties as assigned.
