Job Description As a Security Officer Patrol Guardian in Paramus, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Position Type Full Time Pay Rate $19.50 / Hour Job Schedule Day: Tue 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM; Thur 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM; Fri 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM; Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM What You'll Do Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail location. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts when needed. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout shopping areas, common spaces, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions. Monitor access points, high‑traffic areas, and/or restricted spaces while providing visible support for loss prevention awareness and general order at the location. Assist with closing procedures, crowd flow monitoring, and/or customer assistance during busy periods, special events, or emergency situations as directed by site leadership. Minimum Requirements Applicants must have 1+ years of security-related experience. Applicants must be 21+ years of age. A guard card or license is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
