Apply computational mathematics expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through real-world technical examples, evaluations, and feedback on AI-assisted software workflows. This remote contractor opportunity centers on using AI coding agents to generate and refine actionable code sequences for complex mathematical and engineering work. Key Responsibilities
- Provide detailed examples of using Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork in computational mathematics projects.
- Document AI-assisted workflows for navigating large codebases, debugging complex issues, implementing end-to-end features, and making architectural changes.
- Explain project goals, technical challenges, decision-making, and the role AI agents played, in clear written and verbal formats.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of different AI agent tools for ambiguous or open-ended mathematical and coding problems.
- Submit concise reports covering project complexity, problem context, and AI-supported decisions.
- Share feedback on the practical use and limitations of AI tools in computational mathematics, and participate in remote consultations or knowledge-sharing sessions as needed.
- Current STEM professional with hands-on computational mathematics experience.
- Proficiency in Python and AI-driven coding workflows.
- Experience using Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork to produce actionable code sequences, not solely chat-based outputs.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems, debug sophisticated codebases, and work through large or ambiguous problem sets.
- Strong technical documentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing remote deliverables independently.
- Ability to analyze and document both the value and boundaries of AI agent use in technical settings.
- Interest in advancing practical AI adoption within computational mathematics.
