Reach Truck Operator/Cherry picker operator
ERC Staff
Job Description
Job Description
Cherry Picker (Order Picker / Boom Lift)
- What it is: A machine featuring a platform, bucket, or cage attached to a hydraulic lifting mechanism.
- How it works: The operator stands on a raised platform that ascends right along with the forks and controls to pick individual items from high warehouse racks, or sits in a bucket for outdoor aerial work like tree trimming or utility repairs.
- Best use: Manual piece-picking and order fulfillment at elevated heights inside a warehouse, or outdoor maintenance
- Reach Truck
- What it is: A specialized narrow-aisle forklift designed for moving and stacking heavy pallets.
- How it works: The operator remains stationed safely inside the ground-level cabin while the outer legs and extending forks reach forward into deep storage racks to load or unload pallets.
- Best use: Transporting, lifting, and organizing heavy palletized inventory in tight warehouse aisles rather than lifting people. [1, 2, 3]
