Senior Estimator T&D

About the Role The Sr T&D Estimator ensures competitiveness, profitability, and growth while maintaining and growing relationships with internal and external customers and clients. The T&D Sr Estimator is responsible for preparing complete cost estimates, and for responses to Requests for Proposals for large transmission, distribution, and substation construction projects. The Sr T&D Estimator mentors and trains Estimators. Essential Functions Prepare complete labor and material cost estimates Outline and prepare responses to requests for proposals Complete cost estimates for assigned projects, with definable work tasks for transmission, distribution, and substation projects Perform field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation Prepare comprehensive bid submittals, including work plans, schedules, clarifications, etc. Develop strategies for being awarded projects Help maintain and develop estimating database Develop relationships with clients Assist other Estimating team members with cost estimates and bid package preparation Contribute to/review and evaluate Estimating staff performance Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency Perform operational contract redlines and coordinate with the legal department, and understand how contractual items affect the bid/work Determine constructability requirements via field walk-downs with customers, subcontractors, and construction personnel Attend on-site pre-bid meetings and perform job site visits Field job walks and pre-bid meetings may require travel/overnight stays Lead estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders Coordinate with Project Management Prepare and submit change orders Assist construction personnel throughout the project lifecycle in tracking and understanding of cost estimates Follow up at the end of projects to close any loops in the estimating process to include invoicing and cost tracking Communicate with field supervision regarding project status, changes, etc. Ensure profitability and growth Evaluate potential areas for value engineering cost savings and produce backup documentation Other duties as assigned Maintain regular and predictable attendance Perform essential functions at a company-designated office or field location Understand and comply with the company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards Qualifications Minimum 8 years of estimating experience Preferred Education High school diploma or GED Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar field; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proven ability to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, etc. plans and specifications, including drawings, proposals, and other relevant documents Working knowledge of electrical materials and methods of installation Proficient with Microsoft Office applications Proven ability to prepare work plans for transmission, substation, and distribution scopes of work Advanced knowledge of construction means & methods for transmission, substation, and distribution scopes of work, including materials and subcontracted scopes of work Risk identification & mitigation planning for estimate preparation Excellent analytical and organizational skills Strong communication skills, including verbal and written Ability to be self‑motivated, proactive and an effective team player Self‑driven with the ability to stay on task for extended periods of time while working independently Compensation and Benefits Salary $115,000–$160,000 per year, commensurate with experience, paid weekly Comprehensive benefits package – medical, basic vision, Regenexx, Teledoc, hearing, mental health (low deductibles and out‑of‑pocket maximums) Dental – 100% employer‑paid premium ThrivePass Health & Wellness Reimbursement Program – $1,200 annually for health and wellbeing‑related purchases Annual paid time off starting at 15 days plus 10 paid holidays (Cultural Celebration Day is a floating holiday) Generous 401(k) plan with 100% match up to 6%, immediate vesting, and annual profit‑sharing potential Superior educational assistance program (support for educational costs, internal training, and more) Company‑paid short and long‑term disability, life, and accidental death & dismemberment insurance Company‑paid business travel accident insurance Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) Various voluntary plans available including supplemental vision, accident and critical illness, ID theft, group legal, group auto & home, and additional voluntary life insurance plans for employees and dependents Myrr Group, Inc. and our subsidiaries are proud to be Equal Opportunity Employers.
