Job SummaryAdministers and directs the examination, evaluation, determination of a physical therapy diagnosis, rehabilitation prognosis and procedural interventions utilized in physical medicine and rehabilitation of persons requiring Physical Therapy services following a medical screening and referral by a physician within the licensure requirements of the State of Washington.Description of patient population the therapist will be treating: outpatient (about 80%); Acute/Swing Bed (15% about); Long Term Care (about 5%) Typical 8-hour workday and case load: outpatients are schedule one patient every hour. In outpatient setting, therapist treat patients on-on-one for about 45 min with the remaining time to do documentation, ice/modality if needed and clean up their area/table. Acute/swing bed patients are seen at 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM and again at 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM. The case load for acute/swing bed varies on the type of patients and number of patients in the hospital. Pending staffing, it is typical for a therapist to go over to acute/swing bed at either the 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM time or 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM time. Again, this is all depends on staff availability, number of patients and level of care they need. There are times where therapist does go over to acute/swing two times a day (i.e., for about 2 hours) id they have an opening in their out-patient schedule . Typically, a therapist will see about 8-10 patients a day.
