Senior Project Manager

Role Description

The Senior Project Manager is an experienced project professional responsible for leading a combination of planning and execution of activities related to delivery of projects and/or financial/budgeting activity for their teams. Senior project leads take a people leadership role alongside being experienced at successful project delivery.

• Lead scoping, structuring, and coordination across multiple stakeholders.
• Responsible for the success of one or more projects within a given timeline and budget.
• Create and maintain status reports, proactively managing issues and risks.
• Work with 3rd party partners.
• Monitor and adjust to given budgets, track labor, capital spend, and support variance root cause analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• 80% Delivery & Execution:
  • Understand organizational/initiative goals and success criteria to apply to project work.
  • Proactively identify barriers to successful outcomes and partner with leadership teams to overcome.
  • Bring problem solving and critical thinking skills; deep experience in Agile, Waterfall, and other delivery methodologies.
  • Support and execute against quarterly planning and prioritization.
  • Apply lessons learned to inform future initiatives.
  • Partner with stakeholders to lead the project planning effort, including scoping, definition of project deliverables, and creation of a logical work breakdown structure.
  • Ability to communicate at various levels of the organization.
  • Create, monitor, track, and adjust project plans based on critical milestones.
  • Work with stakeholders to determine and align dependencies, identify and track compliance requirements, and manage risk and issues.
  • Develop and execute an effective plan for change management and communicating project information.
  • Able to execute across portfolios or cross-functional initiatives within the Technology organization.
• 20% Resource & Financial Management:
  • Execute and lead fiscal management and reporting for operational, product/business, technology, and vendor stakeholders.
  • Participate in vendor selection and onboarding processes in accordance with Home Depot policy.
  • Involved with the purchase order and invoicing process for 3rd party vendors.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Requirements

• Must have SAP knowledge.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Smartsheet.
• Working knowledge of presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to draw accurate conclusions from financial documentation.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Ability to convey complex or technical ideas and processes in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Benefits

• Pay range for this position is between $70,000.00 - $190,000.00 for residents in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY), and Washington.
